4 Ingredient Milk & Cereal Bars |Milk & Cereal

I’d be lying if I said that I don’t wake up every morning excited for breakfast.

I’m even oftentimes excited for breakfast already when I go to bed at night.

I’d also be lying if I said that cereal isn’t a frequent meal of mine when Rob is out of town.
There’s nothing wrong with that though, right? Right.

Healthy Strawberry Banana “Ice Cream” {or Soft-Serve Frozen Yogurt}

Do you ever come across dessert recipes claiming to be healthy and then, after looking at the ingredients, find that it’s really not that healthy? It’s disappointing.

Well, this is not one of those recipes!

Healthy Strawberry Banana "Ice Cream" by {milkandcerealblog.wordpress.com}

The first time I made it, I wasn’t even sure if it would taste good because it has so little added sweetener. There’s just one tablespoon of honey in the whole recipe, which serves two, and I didn’t know if that would be enough. But I loved it! And Rob did, too, without knowing how healthy it is.

Sweet Grape Salad

It has happened.
The weather has finally begun to feel like Spring! It’s wonderful.
Some days even feel like summer.

Aside from the beautiful weather, one of my favorite aspects of this season is the price of fruit. Grapes drop to a reasonable price, and I gobble them up by the bagful.

This Sweet Grape Salad recipe is from my grandma. The first time she fed it to me, I was enamored. I took seconds, thirds, and fourths, but I didn’t feel that bad because, come on, it’s fruit! Fruit is good for you. Though I enjoy it throughout the seasons, it’s more ideal for Spring and Summer due to the cheaper prices of grapes (in the Midwest, at least).

Reese’s Popcorn

Spontaneous.

That is the word that best describes how this charming recipe came about.

Some friends invited me over to play board games, and I was trying to decide what snack to bring. A brief survey of the pantry offered me some peanut butter chips, milk chocolate chips, and popcorn.

Inside Out Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

It’s hard to believe February is over already.
It seems it came and went in a flash.
And though we have to bid farewell to National Chocolate Lovers Month, we have much to look forward to in the future. Specifically one day in the future…

Tomorrow, March 1st, is– get ready for it– National Peanut Butter Lovers Day!

While I myself am more of a chocoholic than a peanut butter-holic, I know many people just can’t get enough of that creamy, nutty goodness. So this post is dedicated to all you peanut butter fanatics! But if you happen to be more of a chocolate lover, fear not; this recipe is for you, too!

Homemade XL Ritz Cookies

I have a confession.
I love my husband and would never do anything to hurt him.
But I did something bad: I gave him a sweet tooth.

Rob grew up eating healthy meals made by his mom, and he didn’t really crave chocolate and sweets. Well, that unfortunately has changed since he married chocolate-loving me.

Don’t get me wrong; we still eat healthy, and I don’t bake indulgent treats nearly as often as I want to. But I do fall into the tempting trap of the Sugar Monster on occasion, and I’ve unintentionally dragged Rob into this trap with me. I’m a horrible person.

But on a happier note, I made some awesome chocolate peanut butter cookies! After dinner the other night, Rob sheepishly told me he wanted chocolate. I wasn’t about to turn down a request for dessert, so here’s what I made!

Energy Bites

Well, I’ve had the draft of this post open on my computer for a few days now, trying to think of a clever way to introduce these Energy Bites. It’s not that they’re boring, they’re just… simple. Like Mother Teresa. Simple, but full of goodness.
